Dr. Adam Ferguson, the president of National Neurotrauma Society and a leader at the intersection of data science and neurotrauma, visited Stark and Department of Neurological Surgery to present his groundbreaking work on spinal cord injury (SCI) and traumatic brain injury (TBI). With a background spanning behavioral neuroscience, cellular biology, and advanced data science, Dr. Ferguson has pioneered platforms like the NIH-supported Open Data Commons for SCI and TBI. His lab at UCSF and the San Francisco VA Health Care System has led multicenter efforts to uncover biomarkers, improve translational models, and advance therapeutic development in neurotrauma.
