Drs. Deng and White invited Dr. Anna Malykhina to give a seminar talk in Stark Neurosciences Research Institute

Dr. Anna Malykhina, Professor and Director of Basic & Translational Urology Research at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, visited Stark to share her extensive expertise in lower urinary tract physiology and neurogenic bladder dysfunction. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Malykhina's research focuses on pelvic organ cross-sensitization, chronic pelvic pain, and bladder-immune system interactions. She introduced her lab’s groundbreaking coronavirus-induced encephalomyelitis (CIE) mouse model, which links CNS inflammation and demyelination to bladder dysfunction, highlighting immune cell involvement in lower urinary tract symptoms.
